As a kid, I had this hatred towards the Art and Craft module in school. I didn't have any interest in it. None! I thought to myself, "How will it help in my future?". I can vividly remember the Hitler drawing I did when I was in Secondary 3; one hand bigger than the other. I got 2 out of 20 marks. "Not bad for a 5 minutes work!", I thought.

Things started to change when I was around seventeen years of age. I get mesmerised looking at digital art works online. My appreciation towards art grew. I could spend the whole day admiring and getting awed by fabulous work of digital art from online communities and galleries like deviantart.com and digitalblasphemy.com.

I spent my high school days learning the A-Y of Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator. Yes, A-Y, I realised it's almost impossible to learn everything about those softwares. I've always enjoyed web developing too. You know, it's like being an architect in the virtual world. Having fallen in love with the creative world, it didn't take long for me to get interested in photography. If you ask me, photography is the most beautiful thing in the world. A moment captured in time. A moment that's never going to happen again with the exact lighting and expression.

What about videography? You might ask. I think videography is beautiful. I get my inspirations from fabulous cinematic lightings. But it should never be compared to photography. A photograph takes less than a second to view. A video, though it contains more information, takes more. You can hang a photograph on your bedroom wall and change the mood of the whole room. Can a video do the same? They are two separate forms of art. That is the reason why they still coexist. My interest, however, leans towards the divine art of photography.

I remember going around the neighbourhood taking photos with my 5 megapixels Olympus digicam. I was so happy when I first got it. After some skipped meals, I decided to turn it up a notch and get myself a DSLR. I was lucky that my mum is a wedding planner. I shot a few of her customer's wedding as a second photographer before starting to do it on my own. I simply love the fact that I am capturing precious moments that those couples are going to show their children and grandchildren. It's a rewarding job. It pushes me to work hard in every single project as nothing feels better than having a satisfied clientele.

Our group at Simplifai Studios look forward to creating that masterpiece for you.
